Do Art Create is a London-based children's creative business run by two parents — Darren and Orvin — who believe that making something with your own hands is one of the most valuable things a child can do. Everything we sell is an extension of that belief.
We're not a warehousing operation. We don't dropship. There is no factory. Every name kit and every character kit is made by us, here in the UK, by the same people who run your children's parties and workshops across London.
When you order from Do Art Create, your kit is handled personally — cast, packed and dispatched by Darren or Orvin. That's not a marketing line. That's just how we work.
About our plaster.
Our plaster pieces — letters and characters alike — are individually cast using high-quality hard casting plaster. This isn't the same lightweight material used in budget craft kits. Hard casting plaster is denser, smoother and more durable, giving a proper painting surface that holds fine detail and stands up to enthusiastic little artists.
It's the same grade of plaster used by professional craft makers for cast work — chosen specifically because it takes paint well, dries hard and displays beautifully.
Because each piece is hand-cast rather than factory-moulded, you may occasionally notice very minor surface variations — a small bubble here, a slight texture difference there. This is entirely normal for handmade plaster and has no effect on painting. It's simply the honest mark of something made by a real person, not a machine.
Packed with the same care we bring to everything.
Every kit leaves our hands wrapped in tissue paper inside a kraft gift box, with an instruction and thank you card tucked inside. Paint pots, brush, plaster pieces — everything you need, nothing unnecessary. Ready to give straight from the post without a second thought.
We're a small business. We pack every order ourselves. Which means every kit is checked by hand before it goes anywhere near a postbox.
Our plaster pieces are cast using non-toxic hard casting plaster. Paints included are non-toxic and child-safe.
As with all small craft components, adult supervision is recommended for children under 4.
Plaster is a fragile material — handle with care and avoid dropping. Not suitable for children under 3 due to small parts.
